Cattle EST Cattle EST

Cattle functional Genomics group headed by Prof. Harris Lewin. The High-Throughput Unit has performed 5' end sequencing of a cDNA cattle spleen and a normalized placenta library with about 17,000 sequences completed.

Honey Bees EST Honey Bees EST

To accelerate the molecular analysis of behavior in the honey bee (Apis mellifera), we created an expressed sequence tag (EST) resource for the bee brain. Over 20,000 cDNA clones were partially sequenced from the normalized and subtracted libraries at the Keck Center, resulting in 15,311 vector-trimmed, high-quality sequences with an average read length of 494 bp. and average base-quality of 41. These sequences were assembled into 8966 putatively unique sequences, which were tested for similarity to sequences in the public databases with a variety of BLAST searches. Apis ESTs were tentatively assigned molecular function and biological process using the Gene Ontology (GO) classification system.

Pig EST Pig EST

Pig EST resource is constructed by processing more than 100,000 sequences from dbEST and Genbank, which were compared to sequences in the human Unigene databases with a variety of BLAST searches. These ESTs were tentatively assigned molecular function and biological process using the Gene Ontology (GO) classification system.

Genome Project Management System GenomeProject Management System

GPMS is a web-based interface for management of sequence data for the large-scale Genome and EST projects through data storage, retrieval, and analysis. The system integrates a suite of analysis tools that allow users to access their data from the database, do Blast Searches using in-house and public databases stored locally, and GenBank submission of their sequences.

Compass Project COMPASS

The COMPASS process is a series of references and association of data. The result is prediction of locations of a gene or EST on a genome map. With its up to 95% accuracy, COMPASS can dramatically reduce the time and cost for genomic mapping.

Ordering Oligos

A management software package designed for high throughput oligo synthesis operation. It has a web interface for request submission, a management interface for operation, OligoDB, and report generation interface.
